| Field Trips for children at Fired Up Pottery CREATIVE, FUN, AND MEMORABLE Let me introduce Fired Up Pottery. It is located in Cottage Grove on Cottage Grove Road (Highway BB) near the Piggly-Wiggly shopping center. My shop has two parts- a “paint your own pottery” studio, and a wet clay studio, where students make their own art. FIELD TRIPS OFFERED- Paint your own pottery We offer many different projects for children. We have over 150 styles of bisque ware to paint appropriate for both boys and girls. Fee is dependent on the piece selected, but is usually around $15.00 per child. Mugs, bowls and plates are very popular pieces to choose from. Some churches have custom ordered pieces, and we can do that too. I have catalogs to choose from. Free Choice $15 We also have free choice, where students can choose between a mug, bowl or a plate for a set fee of $15 per child. The fixed price of $15 includes project, materials, firing and tax. FIELD TRIPS OFFERED- Wet clay studio Clay hanging wall vase $14 Our most popular project! This class requires 2 meetings. We teach the children to make a hanging wall out of clay. We use stamps to decorate the clay, then use the slip and score method to join the pieces to form a wall vase. It then has to dry for 5 or so days, and get bisque fired. On the second meeting, the kids get to pick from over 100 colors to decorate their piece. It is then fired a second time, and is ready for pick up 6 days after the second meeting. For Day Cares, we deliver them for no charge, since we are sensitive to your unpredictable staffing needs. CREATIVE, FUN, AND MEMORABLE Play in the clay! West Cottage Grove Road is Highway BB, and is marked as BB, not Cottage Grove Road. Depending upon your location in Madison, Mapquest gives "back road" directions, and some people have missed a critical turn. It is longer, but easier to take Cottage Grove Road, or Interstate 94 or Highways 12/18 to go east. Call 608-839-5000 if you need more information. |
