| What you should know about bringing your children who are under 6 to Fired Up Pottery YES! You can bring your little ones to Fired Up...I am committed to helping you create wonderful "Kid art" with your family. Why? Art at this age is so spontaneous and wonderful Adults are incapable of creating art like a small child, and the results are fabulous! About the studio, and how it is designed for small children Kim (a mom of three kids), designed the studio to work for families. There is a small play area which keeps children busy while you shop for just the right piece to paint. When small children enter the store, they usually go right to the play area, (or they sit down at the painting tables). From your view point either option is a good one. Then you can shop for just the right piece to paint. We then pick out paint colors, help you get settled, and you are on your way painting. Finishing a project If there is more than one person painting, of course they finish at different times. We understand and have planned for this. When a child is finished paining, they can go back to playing , or they can color or draw. Yes, but you don't know MY child... Lets face it.... Some kids ARE more difficult. If you feel you have this situation, go ahead and call me at 839-5000, and we can set up a 10:00 painting time so you can have privacy before the store opens at 11:00 am. We also do this for groups and large play dates. Some other tips Make sure your child is well rested, and let them paint at the own pace. Allow 1/2 hour for most children 3 and under, and 45 minutes for kids 3 to 6. Of course if you have an hour, that is best. Still unsure? Come on by and scope it out. Let me show you the blue line on the floor that leads to the bathroom, or the adjustable table that accommodates wheelchairs. I know you are worried about your child in a pottery store. Heck I would be too. But, we have designed the store to minimize accidents, and I'm happy to report that it really works! Our breakage is 1/10th of what I had thought it would be. We have designed the store to be especially fun and safe for little ones. Come on by and try us in action. Depending upon your location in Madison, Mapquest gives "back road" directions, and some people have missed a critical turn. It is longer, but easier to take Cottage Grove Road, or Interstate 94 or Highways 12/18 to go east. Call 608-839-5000 if this message confuses you. |
| Note: Yahoo maps does not show correct location. The store is further east, between West Oak and Sandpiper, near the Piggly Wiggly. |
