More details:
Adult Class:
Have you always wanted to learn how to make pots on a potter’s wheel, or are you already
experienced but need some help?  This is the perfect class for you.  Kim is an experienced
wheel potter (30! years), and the class has a relaxed fun atmosphere.  Be prepared to take
your wheel out for a spin while having a great time. Class instruction is for four sessions,
but a 5 week pass to the studio is included so you can come in anytime and practice  (value
$53).  Eight pounds of clay is included in the class fee. More clay can be purchased at $6
per pound, and while my clay price is more expensive than other places, it is wedged and
deaired, so you can make more pots with less hassle, and YOU ONLY PAY FOR ITEMS YOU
KEEP!  If you make a pot and decide not to keep it, we do not charge you for the clay, nor is
it counted toward the 8 pound total for the class, which saves you money.  We have a
deairing pugmill, so no wedging!

Week one is centering, and making pots
Week two is centering and putting foots on th bottom and making handles
week three is centering, and making spouts and lids and glazing
week four is centering, footing, and anything else you want to know and glazing.
weeks five and six have no instruction, but you are scheduled to come so your pots will be
finished, picked up and brought home.
Ages 14 and up.

See the  note below to see when the next wheel class will be.  Or, you could be the one to
set the time- just talk a friend into doing this with you, and call me!

Next class is Starts May 2008.  You could be the one to schedule a time!

NEW:  Flexible time classes
Many people tell me they would like to take a class but the times I offer are not convenient.
No worries.  Here is my solution.  If you have two or more  people, then we will set a class
time that works  for all of us.  I'm somewhat flexible, given enough lead time. Here's how it
works:

For the 2.5 hour wheel class (ages 14 and up),
2 people sign up $135 each
3 people (sign up as a group; friends are fine!) $125 each
4 people (sign up as a group) $120 each
6 week studio pass and 8 pounds of clay included ($113 value).

Parent-child wheel classes:  limit 4 people

Parent and child wheel class   There is a limit of 4 people per session
Next class spring of 2008- one parent-child team
can set the time for this class.
Parents and their kids (ages 8 and up) team up to have an unforgettable pottery
experience.  Parents participate in the class with their child, or children.  The idea behind
this class is that the parent will learn and be able to reinforce the lesson while practicing at
Fired Up.  This is a unique class, and has been extremely well received by the families that
have taken it.  It is the only parent-child wheel class in the Madison area.  Other
combinations (parent and two children, or parent and three children) can be arranged; talk
to Kim at Fired Up pottery for pricing.  Kim has three children (ages 12, 11 and 9), so
teaching that age is familiar to her.  Be prepared to have a really fun and messy time
together.  Fee includes a 6 week family pass to the studio so you can come in anytime and
practice (value of $83).  Clay, glazes and all other fees are included, except crystal glazes,
which are slightly more.

For the 1.5 hour wheel class, (shorter version) with families, friends and kids:
2 people sign up $200
3 people (sign up as a group; friends are fine!) $275
4 people (sign up as a group) $350
6 week studio pass and 8 pounds of clay per person included.
This is a shorter class of 1.5 hours of instruction a week for 4 weeks.
The shorter class is designed for families, and those with children.
